Shadowbringers: What do we know?

Apologies for the lacklustre post today. Let’s just say family commitments have taken up more time than I expected.

For those who preordered this expansion, tomorrow is the fateful day when the Warrior of Light must become the Warrior of Darkness. If not then you have to wait until the second of July to turn to the dark side.

I myself pre-ordered but I will not be able to play for a while.

So, what exactly is Shadowbringers bringing to the game?

Needless to say that there will be a new story, changes to the battle systems and the level cap will now be 80 rather than 70.

The story, or at least what we have been told so far, for this expansion sound pretty interesting.

Ala Mhigo is at last free from imperial rule, but that liberty may prove fleeting as the Empire moves to both reclaim this bloodied nation and subjugate all of Eorzea.
In their hour of need, however, they cannot turn to the Warrior of Light. Nor to the Scions, who yet slumber, their souls adrift. The realm is left to struggle without its saviors, for they have been beckoned beyond time and space─beckoned to the First.
Here a new adventure begins in a world where light ushers all unto oblivion. But hope is not yet lost, for where there is light there is shadow.

We now have two new jobs, Gunbreaker and Dancer.

Gunbreaker is a Tank job that I am tempted to take up but I struggle with DPS as is, from what I have been told being a Tank is pretty hard so I might just take up the Dancer job since it is a Ranged Physical DPS. Not to mention it looks really cool!

What I am really looking forward to is the new Trust System which allows you to take part in dungeons with select NPCs, namely Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

The new location, the Eastern European folklore inspired Norvrandt brings not only two new cities The Crystarium and Eulmore, and five new areas Rak’tika, Amh Araeng, Il Mheg, Kholusia and Lakeland but also two new playable races.

The bunny girl race (no, really) the Viera and the Lion men race, the Hrothgar.

I still see folk complaining about the gender-locking of these races but honestly, I don’t care as I will not change my character’s race.

I am hyped as hell for this expansion! How about you?
