Before I begin, I gotta say it was a jerk move on Mavel’s part delaying the UK release of Ant-Man and The Wasp. Apparently, it was because of the FIFA World Cup but it only ended up backfiring as it got beaten by Mamma Mia 2 due to the delay.
You played yourself, Marvel.
Days away from finishing his House Arrest, Scott Lang has an odd dream just as Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym try to save her mother Janet from the sub-atomic quantum realm. The trio team up once again to save her while facing off enemies from three sides.
Scott may not be perfect, but he is one hell of a dad. This might seem like a bit of a tangent but if I ever have kids, I hope I’m half the parent Scott is.
Speaking of family and love, that is basically what this film is all about. How far people will go and what they are willing to risk to save and protect the ones they love.
Ghost is a rather interesting character, not to give too much away but there is a bit more to her than you think going into the film. I know it is unlikely but I would like to see more of her in the future, it seems like a bit of a waste not to use an awesome character like her again.
Of course the action in a Marvel movie is going to be great, it’s a given at this point. That being said the action scenes were super creative. Hands down my favourite parts of the movie.
The second best element of the movie is the comedy, at least for me. Comedy is subjective, I know but it was right up my alley. Seemed to be the case for the others in my cinema as I haven’t heard an audience laugh that hard in a good while.
Needless to say, there is an after credits scene, and yes it does tie into Infinity War. That is all I’m going to say, this is a spoiler free review after all.
If I had one complaint it would be that for a Marvel movie, the pacing is really slow. It takes a while to get going and even then it’s not exactly running after that.
Overall I did like Ant-Man and The Wasp. If you enjoyed the first one then you will like the sequel well enough. Not my favourite Marvel film but I liked it fine.
I really enjoyed the comedy elements of the movie especially the truth serum part! 😆😆
