I know, the title sucks but I am not witty enough to come up with anything better.
I don’t really know how to phrase this, but I am a compulsive shopper when it comes to games. Anytime there is a sale I feel like I need to buy at least one game.
I briefly talked about it back in an old ramble in 2016, yikes I feel old, but I figured since this year’s Steam Summer Sale is out I might as well talk a bit more about it.
However, before I go on I have to say that the Saliens game is pretty cute. If you haven’t been on Steam since the Summer Sale started, this year there is a simple game you can play for the chance to get some games for free with a customisable alien.
I have a shocking lack of self-control, especially when it comes to games. What makes it worse if there is a time limit involved, such as events and sales. At the time of writing the only game I have bought in this Summer Sale is Bayonetta for just over £5. So far, so good.
I am glad I don’t know exactly how much money I have sunk into Overwatch Loot Boxes as I have spent more than I care to admit. I haven’t done it for the last two events which I am proud of but I still get tempted every now and then.
As I said before, I often buy preowned games or physical copies on sale and not play them for ages.
I also am a sucker when it comes to merch. I have an old wicker armchair in my room that is covered in plushies. From a Companion Cube to Monokuma, I have a decent number but if you ask my mum she would not feel the same way. Same goes for tees and hoodies. My wardrobe is basically jeans and geeky tees, again much to my mum’s displeasure.
All you really have to do to part me with my cash is slap a game I likes name on it. I have posters, books and even candles. Yeah, video game candles. Though to be honest the Skyrim VR candle is amazing, check it out if you get the chance.
The worst part about the Steam Sale for me is that I keep getting notifications on my phone about ti and games on my wishlist being included. It takes a lot of willpower for me not to buy them all.
Pray for my bank account, guys!
