Deadpool 2 Review

deadpool_two_ver7_xlg_largeWhen it comes to sequels, I try to keep my expectations in check. Especially if the previous film was amazing.

I’m going to say it now, in my humble opinion, Deadpool 2 is a great sequel and I think its better than the first one.

Also, while you don’t have to be an expert on Marvel or even read the comics (although I do encourage you to check them out) to enjoy the film, you do need to watch the first movie.

Deadpool 2 follows everyone’s favourite fourth-wall-breaking mercenary as he tries to protect a young mutant named Russell from the brutal soldier Cable. To do so, he teams up with others old and new.

Deadpool, never change. If you loved his portrayal in the first movie you will enjoy his antics in his follow up. If anything they took it up a notch from the first film, which is a good thing in my books. Colossus got way more screen time which I appreciate.

Domino was amazing. They nailed her character as well as her power, they pulled out all the stops. I could rant about her and Cable but I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m just saying that Cable was fantastic and leave it at that.

2Deadpool 2 is one of the funniest films I have seen in a while. I laughed so hard I cried. Deadpool didn’t hold any punches when it came to trash talking DC. I have mentioned a few times that I prefer DC but I will admit that those were the jokes I laughed the hardest at.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Deadpool without pop culture references, fourth wall breaks and insane action scenes. Deadpool 2 delivers.

As I said at the beginning, of the two Deadpool movies I think the sequel is the superior one, but not by much. Both films are funny, action-packed and oddly sweet at times.

All in all, Deadpool 2 is a blast. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Go, now!
