Let’s be honest for a minute, fellow gamers. We all have a few games on our shelves or in our Steam Libraries we don’t want people to see, let alone tell others that we enjoy them.
Well, I figured I might as well talk about mine in hopes I can maybe start a conversation about it. Also, I thought it might be fun. If I can make at least one person agree with me, or laugh at me, I’ll consider this a victory.
So, from least embarrassing to “Oh dear God, why do I spend so much time playing this?” I present my Top Four guilty pleasure games.
Don’t judge me!
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle
The first game on the list and the newest.
I have ranted about my love of the Friday the 13th movies before, so it should come as no surprise that I was glad to find a free Friday the 13th game.
Are the graphics bad? Yes. Is it a rather cheesy game? Oh yes. Is it fun? Well, I think so.
It’s a fun slider puzzle game lovingly mocking the movies and I am rather fond of it.
The guilty aspect is that this game is more fun than it has any right to be. That and I am a sucker for games like this.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below
Right, let me explain this one.
The reason Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below made this list isn’t so much to do with the game itself as compared to the other games on this list, objectively it is the best one. Great animation, solid gameplay and a rather good story to boot.
The issue was how much I got into it.
I was obsessed with this game for a while and even got emotional while playing, I cried a few times.
Yeah, I know. I am a sap, but at least I own up to it.
To add to the embarrassing factor, I was rather bad. It took me way too long to complete levels.
The Sakura series
Yeah, if you know what these games are about, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Side note, trying to find a vaguely tasteful picture for this segment was tricker than I expected.
Well, if you don’t know about the Sakura games, to sum them up quickly they are Visual Novel Dating Sims.
On top of that, they are very popular with 21 games in the franchise with four on the way with unannounced release dates and Sakura Sadist coming out in two days.
EDIT: The release date for Sakura Sadist is now the 26th of May.
While I am a bit embarrassed to admit my feelings on the last entry, this is the game that really mortifies me.
The spiritual sequel to HuniePop, HunieCam Studio is a clicker game were you run a cam girl studio.
You know what the worse part of this game is? How addictive it is! I take this game way too seriously and have been trying way too hard to unlock all the achievements.
I kinda hate myself more and more when I play this. Yet I find myself coming back to it time and time again.
Well, now that I have embarrassed myself online, I’m going to find a dark corner to hide in. If you have any guilty pleasure games you are brave enough to confess about, please let me know.
Until next time!
