Trying to avoid Avengers: Infinity War spoilers is ridiculously hard. Harder still is avoiding the hype, I’m already keen to see it but I’m trying to keep my expectations in check.
Speaking of which, let me rant for a bit about my hopes and fears for this film.
My first hope seems to have already been fulfilled considering it has (at the time of writing) a 9.1/10 IMDb rating and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nonetheless, it was the hope that Avengers: Infinity War would continue the winning streak Marvel films have been on for a while now. While I am more of a DC gal myself I will admit that in term of live-action films, Marvel is winning by a fair margin.
Another hope of mine is that they get the balance between intense fight scenes and character development right. I don’t want a film like this to turn out to just be action. Marvel has gotten the balance perfect in most of their films, I’m hoping Avengers: Infinity War will be no different in that respect.
My biggest fear is that some of the characters will be left in the background or neglected. While this film has a rather impressive 2 hours and 40-minute runtime, there are still, according to Chris Hemsworth, 76 comic book legends!
Chances are some will not get as much screentime, which is a shame and I fear that it might be Spiderman as he doesn’t show up in the trailer as often as some of the others.
Another fear is regarding the possible deaths. We have been warned that not all of our heroes will make it and I am scared that it might be Gamora who bites the dust as she is one of my favourites.
The reason I think it might be her is that she is the daughter of Thanos who disobeyed him so she might get targeted by him. Nebula might also be up for the chopping block for the same reason.
I am desperate to see Avengers: Infinity War as soon as possible, mostly because it looks promising although part of me wants to see it soon so I don’t need to worry about spoilers anymore.
