Takahashi-san is listening follows Highschool idol, Ena Takahashi who has a hobby.
Nothing wrong with that, everyone has a hobby, right? Well, instead of gaming or sports, Takahashi enjoys listening into her classmate’s conversations.
Her favourite classmates to spy on are the class representative Nara and the simple Mikage. She needs to be careful because if anyone finds out about her hobby, her reputation will be in ruins.
Despite her hobby, Takahashi is a very likeable character. She is well intentioned and knows fine well that her hobby is creepy, but simply can’t help herself. She is really expressive, even by manga standards and has her cute moments as well.
The lads Nara and Mikage are likeable but they aren’t exactly groundbreaking. However, this is a light-hearted slice of life comedy manga, so I am not complaining.
On that note, the jokes in Takahashi-san is listening revolve around Takahashi’s reactions to Nara and Mikage’s conversations. That might sound dull, but these conversations are pretty odd. It’s no wonder Takahashi enjoys eavesdropping on the pair.
As much as I love dramatic manga with dark twists and heartbreaking moments, it is nice to read a simple and funny story every now and them.
If you are looking for a funny manga with an air of innocence and some interesting references, Takahashi-san is listening is the manga for you!
