Upcoming Uprising

UntitledAbout time, Blizzard!

As we all know, Blizzard likes to take its sweet time to announce any new information. However, we now have a decent amount of info about the upcoming Overwatch event.

The latest event will start on the 11th of April, though some online refer to it as the omnic crisis event or King’s Row uprising. As usual, Blizzard is keeping their cards close to their chest, but we do know for a fact is that this is going to be the first event that isn’t tied into a real world holiday and will expand the lore of the game.

A new comic describing how the King’s Row Uprising started off was released last night, much to my delight. This might be going off on a tangent, but I have to say that the comic is pretty interesting and gives us a new insight into how Overwatch was run before it was forced to disband as well as adding new information to the lore and timeline of the game. I highly recommend reading it. Enjoy.

Untitled.png2I get the feeling that the comic will tie into the event, perhaps in the form of skins for the characters who made an appearance in the comic? Some references in voice lines? I don’t know, I’m just spitballing here. If you have any ideas, please let me know, I’m interested in hearing them.

Another detail we know for certain is that there will be a new Widowmaker skin, Widowmaker mains, rejoice. As a D.Va main myself, I doubt she will get a skin in this event, but I sure hope she does!

There are murmurs floating around online discussing the possibility that the event might bring a new map or mode into the game. If I had to bet, my money would be on a new game mode. Considering the popularity of the Year of the Rooster event’s capture the flag mode, it would make sense to add a new mode into the game.

I don’t know about you, but I am so pumped for this event! With new lore and the possibility of a new mode, I am counting down the days until this mission starts.
